The Ministry of Administration and Local Self-Government of the Republika Srpska, with the technical assistance of the "EU for Civil Society (EU4CS)" project, which is financed by the Delegation of the European Union, organized the third, final meeting of the Working Group for the development of the Local Self-Government Development Strategy in the Republika Srpska for the period 2022-2028 . year, which was held in Banja Luka.
Members of the Working Group worked on defining the main elements of the strategic platform, strategic goals, priorities and measures, and defining the elements for the financial and implementation framework for the Local Self-Government Development Strategy in the Republic of Srpska in accordance with the newly established system and process of strategic planning in the Republic of Srpska.
"Local self-government development strategy in the Republic of Srpska for the period 2022-2028. year will contain key solutions and measures for the process of decentralization and reform of local self-government based on the principles of the European Charter on Local Self-Government. Improving property management in local self-government units, strengthening citizen participation in the decision-making process at the local level, digitization, quality management, capacity building and professional training of employees in local self-government units, improving services provided to citizens and creating a favorable business environment, are just a few of the topics that will find a place in the new strategic document," said Duško Milojević, head of the Department for Strategic Planning and Implementation of Strategies and Projects in the Field of Local Self-Government in the Ministry of Administration and Local Self-Government of the Republic of Srpska.
He also pointed out that one of the priorities of the new strategic document will be the improvement of the support system for underdeveloped local self-government units through the development of additional material and non-material support mechanisms for these local self-government units in order to encourage their development and ensure balanced development of local self-government units in the Republic of Srpska.
The meeting was attended by representatives of relevant ministries, republican administrations, republican administrative organizations, local self-government units, the Association of Municipalities and Cities of the Republika Srpska, the academic community, socioeconomic partners and civil society organizations.
