The Council for Combating Family Violence and the Council for Children of the Republic of Srpska organized a meeting during which the reports on the family violence for the period January – June 2014 were presented.
The Head of the Council for Combating Family Violence, Ivanka Markovic accentuated the importance of these reports and data. Based on these accounts, concrete measures for combating and preventing domestic violence in the family, including children abuse can be undertaken.
"Given the fact that, unfortunately, cases of family violence are becoming more frequent, we are obliged to plan activities which would meet the needs of the victims of domestic violence", said Ms Markovic.
It was concluded that these two Councils with the help of the media should work more intensively on raising the awareness about violence as a social problem.
Furthermore, the representatives of the two Councils discussed the so far implemented activities, and the proposals for the annual action plans.
