The Ministry of Physical Planning, Civil Engineering and Ecology of Republic of Srpska has undertaken all necessary actions in connection with the intention of Croatia to implement the project of radioactive waste disposal at the location Trgovska gora, at the territory of Dvor municipality.
"We have sent a request and letters of protest to the Government of the Republic of Croatia and their line ministry asking them to provide us with all the relevant information regarding the project of radioactive waste disposal at this location. We were informed by the aforementioned institutions that our request was being processed.", said Madam Minister Srebrenka Golić.
Minister Golić reminded that, in December 2014, the Croatian Parliament adopted a strategy anticipating the location of Trgovska gora in Dvor municipality as one of the sites for radioactive waste disposal: "This site is located 3.5 kilometres from the border with Bosnia and Herzegovina and Novi Grad municipality, and if Croatia would like to undertake activities for implementation of this project, Croatia must respect all the conventions it signed, primarily the Espoo Convention relating to the Environmental Impact Assessment across national borders, which was ratified in Croatia in 1996, and in 2009 with us.”, said Minister Golić, adding that the Ministry has informed the BiH Minister of Economic Affairs and Regional Cooperation, Mirko Šarović, on this request sent to the Government of Croatia, and with regard to this, the Ministry intends to send a letter to the Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mladen Ivanić and the BiH Minister of Foreign Affairs, Igor Crnadak.
"Given the fact that a letter appeared on the territory of Novi Grad municipality, which attempts to bring this issue into some other context, and which is an obvious falsification, I informed the Ministry of Interior Affairs of Republic of Srpska and my expectations are that we will soon find out who is behind the letter, that is, whose intention is to further disturb the public by falsifying the facts.", said Madam Minister Srebrenka Golić.
