Today in the Municipality Jezero, Minister of Scientific and Technological Development, Higher Education and Information Society of the Republic of Srpska, Srđan Rajčević handed the first 15 Raspberry Pi computers to students of Primary School "Vuk Karadžić".
Rajčević stated that he is glad that the distribution of computers for primary school students from 20 extremely underdeveloped municipalities has started.
- The goal of the "1000 for the Future" project is to make it easier for children to follow online classes, for these children to get in touch with modern technology as soon as possible and to embark on their first programming adventures - Rajčević pointed out.
He added that this project is one of socially responsible initiatives that the Ministry had started during the epidemic.
- The goal of the Ministry of Scientific and Technological Development, Higher Education and Information Society is to educate the youngest residents in the Republic of Srpska in order to prepare them for future occupations - Rajčević emphasized.
The mayor of the Municipality Jezero, Snežana Ružičić, said that the donation was of great importance for a small underdeveloped municipality and that children from large families would receive these computers.
- These computers will be used by more siblings. This is very important to us, considering that there is high unemployment here - Ružičić pointed out.
She expressed her gratitude to the Government and the Minister for recognizing the importance of supporting the provision of computer equipment for primary school.
The director of the Primary School "Vuk Karadžić", Radomir Nikolčić, said that the donation would enable the children to progress and to better follow the distance learning.
