On behalf of the Government of the Republic of Srpska, minister of Scientific and Technological Development, Higher Education and Information Society of the Republic of Srpska, Srđan Rajčević, and the Director Of Marketing And Business Development at ELTA Systems Ltd. from Israel, Roi Shaposhnik, signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of the Republic of Srpska and the Israeli company ELTA Systems Ltd. with the goal of establishing a Cyber academy that will train and equip students to acquire knowledge and skills in the field of cyber security.
Minister Rajčević said that general statistics on global level witness the importance of signing this memorandum, which says that this year the need for cyber security profiles will be around 3.5 million executors.
-The needs in the EU digital market are also enormous - 400,000 jobs, which tells a lot about the demand for profiles in this field on European and world level - said Rajčević.
He emphasized that the signing of this memorandum provided a good basis for the continuation of cooperation between the Government of Republic of Srpska and the company ELTA Systems Ltd., all with a goal of establishing the first cyber academy not only in Srpska and BiH, but also in the region.
- Our goal in Srpska is for Banja Luka and Srpska to become a center of cyber security and of this type of IT industry. For that purpose, we plan to organize and establish a Cyber academy in cooperation with Israeli partners, which will produce profiles of this kind from year to year - said minister Rajčević and emphasized that the fact that the state of Israel has a reputation of "cyber nation" speaks volumes about the company in question.
He added that this shows that Israel is a world leader in the field of cyber security.
-I believe that in the foreseeable future, in cooperation with domestic educational institutions, such as the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Banja Luka, we will consider all modalities in which we would get domestic higher education institution as participant in the whole project. Negotiations are under way to make those plans a reality - said Rajčević.
He pointed out that, if everything goes according to plan regarding the establishment of Cyber academy, they could organize trainings with physical presence of coaches by the spring of next year.
- Until then, we would work on financial, logistical and infrastructural preconditions for that - said Rajčević.
Shaposnik emphasized that the signing of this memorandum is a historic moment for Israel and Srpska.
He said that ELTA Systems Ltd. are leaders in the cyber domain in the world, and added that it will be possible to jointly develop the ability to work in this domain.
Shaposhnik thanked the Serbian member of the Presidency of BiH, Milorad Dodik, minister Rajčević, the Ambassador of BiH to Israel and the Ambassador of Israel to BiH for their great work and activities in uniting these countries.
- I expect that we will all see fruits of this work very soon - said Shaposhnik.
