"The Republic of Srpska shall give a desicive reponse to negative phenomena in the field of higher education. We will control the issuance of diplomas, the work and engagement of teachers and associates, the fulfillment of conditions for performing activities, and special emphasis is on cooperation with the authorities in the Brčko District and the Federation of BiH. It was noted that the cooperation of inspections is not at a satisfactory level, and that is a precondition for operative action on these issues, "said the Minister of Scientific and Technological Development, Higher Education and Information Society of the Republic of Srpska Srđan Rajčević, after the first meeting of the Commission for Fight Against Negative Phenomena in Higher Education in the Republic of Srpska, held today at in the premises of the Ministry.
The meeting was attended by the representatives of the Ministry of Scientific and Technological Development, Higher Education and Information Society of the Republic of Srpska, the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Sprska, Republic Administration for Inspection Affairs and the Agency for Higher Education of the Republic of Srpska.
"This is the beginning of the end of the story of fake diplomas and everything that appears in negative context in the field of higher education in Srpska." I call upon my colleagues in the Federation and the District Brčko to make joint efforts in dealing with all those who are destroying present and future generations for their profit or other interests", said minister Rajčević.
At the meeting of the Commission, it was agreed that at the next meeting of the Commission, scheduled for February 25, 2021, the Agency for Higher Education of the Republic of Srpska shall propose criteria and parameters for the introduction of quality ranking systems of higher education institutions in the Republic of Srpska. This ranking list will serve as a guide for employers in the public and real sector when hiring, all in accordance with the best European and world practice.
"The Republic Education Inspectorate will propose an action plan for comprehensive control of the work of higher education institutions." After the control of the work of all higher education institutions, the Commission will present the findings of the inspection to the Government of the Republic of Srpska with proposals for further action in relation to possible observed shortcomings ", said Minister Srdjan Rajčević.
The Ministry of Scientific and Technological Development, Higher Education and Information Society will review the Register of Higher Education Institutions with a focus on the status of employed teachers and associates.
