During his visit to the People's Republic of China, Prime Minister of the Republic of Srpska Radovan Višković met on December 3, 2019 with representatives of several Chinese companies in Beijing including the China National Aero-Technology International Engineering Corporation, AVIC – Eng, the China National Aero-Technology Import&Export Corporation, CATIC, as well as representatives of the city administration of Beijing.
Prime Minister Višković emphasized that the AVIC -Eng Corporation expressed great respect for the Republic of Srpska and demonstrated the interest in building certain energy and industry facilities in the Republic of Srpska.
"We expect to initial the first agreement tomorrow with regard to construction of three hydropower plants on the Bistrica River exceeding 45 megawatts of installed capacity and worth EUR 90 million, under a 'turnkey' principle. We also talked about construction of a pipe factory in Foča", Prime Minister Višković said adding that it has been agreed as well to analyze the design documentation for the construction of the cement plant in Ugljevik.
Prime Minister Višković stated that a memorandum will be signed with this company regarding the preparation of a feasibility study for construction of Trebinje Airport.
"If the feasibility study shows that building of this capacity is justified, we shall form a joint venture with AVIC-Eng on the basis of 50-50% share for the development and construction of this project", Prime Minister Višković said adding that cooperation with the companies "Orao" and "Kosmos" in the Republic of Srpska has also been discussed with the Chinese partners.
"Our Chinese partners will visit `Orao' and 'Kosmos' early next year to make assessment of the situation in these production facilities of our defense industry and suggest possible modes of cooperation", Prime Minister Višković said.
Delegation of the Government of the Republic of Srpska today also spoke with the Vice-President of the China National Aero-Technology Import & Export Corporation /CATIC/, Zhang Sino about the "Orao" and "Kosmos" companies and possible future jobs and entering the third country markets.
Prime Minister Višković said that the Government Delegation also had the opportunity to meet with the representative of the Beijing City Administration and also the member of the Beijing Committee of the Communist Party of China in charge of implementation of international projects, Ms. Chi Jing asking for a 'green light' so that AVIC-Eng could continue discussions with the Republic of Srpska on all those projects.
